A Little Bit About Me

- Dr. Hope R. Shields - King -
Greetings! This is my 10th year of teaching and my 4th as an Instructional Technology Coach.
I hold a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems and a Master of Art in Teaching from the University of Memphis. I completed my Education Specialist degree in Teacher Leadership in the summer of 2018 and in the Spring of 2020 I obtained my Doctor of Education from Freed-Hardeman University.
I am the mother of two beautiful twins girls - Naomi and Natalie. The are the light of my world.
In addition to teaching, I am active in the Bartlett Education Association. The vision of the National Education Association is "a great public school for every student", and is a vision I share. I believe that every child is deserving of a quality education and a teacher who truly cares. I strive to bring my best self to school every day. I believe that before a child can be effectively taught, they must have a relationship with their teacher. John C. Maxwell said, “Students don’t care how much you know until you show how much you care,” and I believe this is true.
In my free time, you can either find me sewing or singing with the Tennessee Mass Choir.
These are a few of my favorite things...
Favorite Colors - Teal & Burgundy
Favorite Drink - Coke (Cherry or Vanilla if you really love me)
Favorite Candy - Snickers & Sour Gummies
Favorite Fast Food - Chick-fil-A
